i feel like i was "so LA" today.

i have been in so many wonderful kickass houses in the last four days. amazing. houses of my friends and mamas of the school.

lynn: 1927 palacial spanish above los feliz and vermont. next door to general hospital star. a.maz.ing. easily the craziest, biggest, and most expensive house i've been in. prohibition-era basement bar with hammered copper, 3 stories, mostly all redone. friday.

marion: 1953 cute house in sunland. it's a lot like the houses i am looking at. marion has done some painting, and has an incredible garden. i am going to try to hook her up with a granite coutertop. friday.

sherri: 1913 craftsman foursquare on the steepest hill in silverlake. i go there all the time but since i'm counting i might as well mention it. it was built originally as a duplex and so there's a kitchen upstairs and downstairs. full finished basement and upper porch with a view of downtown. thurs and fri.

jen: 1928 spanish on the side of a hill in silverlake, overlooking the resivoir. lots of unpermitted sace in the finished basement, great windows and rough tile floors throughout the house. today.

laura: oh god. 1921??? i think spanish in franklin hills. laura has her house decorated the way i would decorate. red walls, mexican folk art, but also this great original art deco tile in the master bath. the house rambles and is mostly vertical and has a lot of dark wood. one whole side is windows that look over hollywood. breathtaking. probably my favorite. last weekend and today.

*sigh** most of those were old hollywood era, except marion who lives in the valley and of course her house dates from 1953 because almost every single house in the san fucking fernando valley was built in 1953.

and then

and then

and THEN

i had not enough time with [livejournal.com profile] themouse. it's never enough time. she is beautiful and HILARIOUS (the funniest girl i know. theriously.) and so much fun and i want to eat her up. like coconut. we had dinner at a yum yum place with a bitch bitch server. next time sushi at "her" sushi place. fo shizzle.

i also scored seat covers today. hawaiian tropical with surfboards. what.ever.

now it's harry potter time.

Hey, fellow L.A. person here.

Glad things seem to be going well. I've seen a few interesting homes in L.A. overe the past 1 1/2 years I've lived here. One that was custom-built in Tajunga. One in Westwood (owned by a successful animator & wife), and one in Silver Lake.

Reading book 5 of HP? Just curious, how do you customize your page, use smileys, etc. Is that for paid members?

Jeff

we are only on book 3 of HP.
i know customizing the background is for paid members, i just added a background image. there's a community for it, i think it's called lj_style.

the smileys are just a mood theme that anyone can use, they are where you edit your journal.
