all of a sudden he's so big and he's really getting into baseball. that is sam's cap from when he played in high school in champaign.

he looks so grown up. you ain't kidding! i guess 5 does that to a kid? i have a pic of him at 2/3? on my desk (the close-up of him playing on the yellow airplane in costa mesa when you guys came to visit one time from AZ) so i still kind of think of him as being little.

is he any good at ball yet?

he is! surprisingly good! i need to get him a right-sized glove, that one was my dad's.
so i'm gonna look at target for a ball-bat-glove set or something.

molly has played softball for the past few years, so last year for her b-day i got her a new glove. i got it at target and they had a really good selection of kids stuff. i'm sure you'd find all the baseball gear there for cheap, even if it wasn't a set.
