the bunkbeds are so WHITE on the frames that hold the beds. i was thinking of airbrushing/blowpenning them all blue and then stamping sea life designs on in blue and purple. but then sam said that he liked the modpodge idea i had for the kitchen table.

so how cool would it be to get a shitload of national geogrpahics with ocean themes and cut out lots of ocean and then cut out sharks and dolphins and starfish etc and then modpodge it all on there????

and the other idea i have is for the boys to start "summer books". (we avoid the word "journal" at all costs. bigun was made to do drawing and sentence writing in kindergarten and they called it journals. that's what we're going to do, but if we call it something else he might be more into it.) so far i was just thinking construction paper books with what we did each day drawn and/or written on there. we have done so much stuff already!!! but we can use all kinds of media. last year i started the tradtion of giving him a little photo album of summer. but now we have the digicam and we are off print pictures. maybe if we buy a photoprinter or new printer cartridge by the end of summer we could add some photos. hhrrrmmm.

also, whenever i get the chance to hang out at my own house again, i have everything to make homemade playdough.

the modge podge idea sounds super cool, but also like a lot of work. i think it would be a lot easier to blowpen or sponge paint the beds. if you painted on them it would be easier to change them again sometime later. i don't have that much experience with modge podge, but if you do that, it might be forever.

wow, you sound like such a great mum! :) i can't remember my mum doing anything like that with me and my sister, and also i worked as a kindergarden teacher for five or six years and a lot of the kids parents didn't give a damn about what the kids made during the day and seemed to be so busy to even do stuff at home with them. if you asked the kids what they did after kindergarden, most of them said 'watched a video' and the parents were like 'thank god for vcr's and cartoons, you just pop the kid infront of the tv and there he/she sit all day while i can do my stuff around the house!'. i really like parents who take time to do stuff with their kids :)
