went and saw asha's baba at the ford theater. it was nice. i am always struck by how small-town la actually is. i ran into brad and olivia, teresa and zen, and joe, dutch and flannery. i also saw echo from a distance but didn't get a chance to say hi. it's probably the kid-o circle that i'm in, but jeez. i was still surprised.

we are all grumpy and fighting with each other. hopefully the lunch that's in the oven will take the edge off. i keep threatening to not take them to the birthday party, but i know that would never happen. the birthday party is a genuine distraction and there's no way i'm passing that up. and maybe i can talk to some adults.

i am eating my first fullsized corndog (tofudog) since childhood. once in the highland park cafeteria, i bit into a corndog that had no dog inside. it was mushy soggy cormeal inside. i never got over that. it was disgusting.

bigun leaves on a jetplane tomorrow. i have to take him to the airport. the end of an era.

we brought cupcakes to school yesterday in honor of bigun's upcoming birthday. they were dammmnnnn good. i messed up and overfilled the cups, so that the mix for 24 cupcakes was squeezed into 12. they were giant oversized cupcakes. organic chocolate with pure evil buttercream frosting. ghiradelli chocolate chips in the shape of sevens on top.
i wish i had one now.....

tomorrow i have nothing scheduled after the airport. except i am going to try to go out with sam to indian food. julie said she would babysit. :)

if i could go eat? a meal? with sam? alone????
maybe i wouldn't feel like this anymore.
