had a restful sleep despite the pandamonium that was ensuing outside. it was something about a sporting event, i don't really know. but there was plenty of hootin' and hollerin' and some firecrackers, too.

i am missing sam.

it rained last night. lovely. don't get much of that here.

i am dying to hear from sam and find out what's going on in santa monica. the suspense is killing me. maybe i should have gone, but i know that dealing with ijah would have been hard and he can get so much more done there without us.

whitney's writing a series of death and birthday elegies for anne sexton. she's all into the scorpioness of her (death and change deatha nd change). i got the first one this morning, beautiful.

my current favorite band has changed. again. it's modest mouse now.

the rain! oh, the thunder and the pouring rain are beautiful in this desert. the kids stomped around and played until they were soaked.

heard from two good friends today.
scotti potti and jonathan. life is crazy and beautiful.


i've had a lot of time to think, and i am sort of asking myself "what am i DOING?"

who knows.

sam has been scouting apartments like crazy, he is working really hard.
