indescribeable
Jul. 10th, 2002 09:13 pmi don't know how to describe what i'm feeling.
it's a mixture of calmness from not being around kids all day and introspection.
i suspect the introspection comes from the white wine.
maria gave me a perfectly chilled glass of white wine after dinner (a FABULOUS dinner of pasta with olive/caper/pinenut sauce.) and she poured some blackberry liquer in it. the blackberry swirled and made beautiful patterns and then turned my wine to blush.
drinking wine in her garden was relaxing and amazing. i wanted more.
maria is so fucking cool.
every time i hang out with her, i get a clearer idea of what i want to do "when i grow up" and where i want to be in 5 or so years. she is the everpractical gemini, but she always speaks the truth and listens endlessly.
she took my kids for me today. *falls to knees in gratitude*
this time off was so needed and so awesome.
i felt very accomplished today when i went by myself to the LA coliseum on public transportation. i took the subway to macarthur park and then took a bus (*gasp*. busses scare me. ever since i got lost in the bus system in pittsburgh i have had this FEAR of them. if you're in an area that's unfamiliar it's just so easy to miss your stop....) to 39th and figuroa where the coliseum is. now, the bus driver was WAY cool. i marched up to him and informed him that i needed to get off at 39th and was unfamiliar with the area so could he please tell me when...
"going to that concert?" he asked.
yes, the warped tour.
he asked about it and i told him all about the mimsies and gave him a sticker. well, it turns out his nineteen year old son is a rapper and just got signed to death row records and just finished his first album with sug knight.
so we talked music biz and struggling artist talk and then he told me to have a good show and to be careful, and dropped me off at the kroq sign right in front of the venue.
that was nice.
bryan got me in and we found the merch tent.
what a nice place to be and to have an option of being. shade is required. i didn't see a lot of bands this time because i was mostly in the tent. i sewed a patch onto a shirt for the nugget so now he's a black market kid.
i had to leave before their set (BUMMER), but maybe we can catch them tomorrow.
i am way looking forward to the ventura show. making a trip out of it with sam should be really fun.
i love connecting with him.
i am full of love tonight. time alone and one glass of white wine was all i really needed.
