weekends are slow
Aug. 18th, 2001 09:13 pmtoday was nice. we got the little dude some school clothes, we ate at a really nice restaurant.
i found out i'm going to mexico for awhile to be by the ocean.
mexico is soooo amazing. this place that i go in particular. it's a sleepy little fishing village on the sea of cortez. my friend's house is this gorgeous, really neatly designed house. the floors are flagstone and in the ceilings are rough wooden beams. there are 2 bedrooms that have french doors that open to the water. TO the water. you wake up in the morning and you look past your feet to an expansive of sand and the ocean out the window. the beach is fairly deserted, it's in a community that doesn't allow atvs or fireworks or any of that party-beach-town stuff, so it's a quiet stretch of tan sand and seashells and birds. it's very tropical there, very salty and warm. you can see forever, it's very open, no trees or anything.
the village itself is so sweet, lots of crazy fresh fish (makes me even want it!), little shops, nice nice people, panaderias. spanish always finds its way to me when i'm there-- i remember all my words. and to go with muriel. she's really sweet and little dude loves her daughter so much. she has 2 dogs that are like family, and now a new baby. and all of this, i can kiss it goodbye when i move to la.
the only thing is, this seems to be the height of my addiction to the computer, and i get a little tight in my chest when i think about not using it. but i know that's ridiculous. i've been to enough rainbow gatherings to know that it's very good for your soul to get down with the earth. and the ocean.....it'll definitely be worth it, i can't let this chance go by.
